Has anyone else experienced weight loss during pregnancy?


I’m 18 weeks pregnant. Since I found out I was pregnant I’ve lost 25 pounds. I was overweight to begin with. I had nausea in my first trimester but didn’t throw up so it not due to morning sickness that I’m losing the weight. I’m now in my 2nd trimester and I’m still losing weight. I eat small meals throughout the day to control my sugar. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a good amount of weight loss during their pregnancy.

    I lost 26 pounds in my first trimester, but thats because of my really bad morning sickness. So far, I’ve only gained 5 of it back. I was overweight too, so I think that’s part of it. Also I watch what I eat better, and it sounds like you’re doing the same!

    I was 195 when I got pregnant with my daughter. When I had her I weighted 145. I lost weight because of carbon poisoning. But my daughter was fine. She weighed almost 6 pounds.

    yeah, i’ve lost weight since i’ve been pregnant.
    i’ve only gained a total of 15lbs in the past 9 months too.
    but i think that’s due to getting sick/diarrhea
    alot during my pregnancy.

    Your weight loss is (although not necessarily ideal for you or your baby right now) probably perfectly normal and harmless. Many pregnant women lose weight their first trimester, and (because you are most likely being more careful about your diet) you are likely to continue losing some weight for a while if you were overweight to begin with. As long as you are eating regular, healthy meals and not "dieting", you should be fine.

    I’m 16 weeks and I have lost 15 pounds. I’m sure we’ll gain some of it back later on.

    Yes i did with my first pregnancy, i lost 16 kg (not sure how many pounds that is) but it went down about 2 or 3 dress sizes. It was fantastic. I was also overweight to start with and only lost the weight because i was eating healthy and exercising as soon as i found out i was pregnant because i wanted a healthy baby. After i gave birth i as usual, packed some of the weight back on because i started eating fast foods again etc etc. Anyway im 25 weeks pregnant again now and have lost a little bit of weight (i think) i havnt had many midwife appointments (i think only 3) so i havnt been able to weigh myself often but i have been fitting into smaller sized clothes. But i am not exercising or eating as healthy with this pregnancy, iv been a bit lazy really, i need to get motivated

    EDIT: i never had any morning sickness or anything. my son was born healthy and was 8lb 10oz
